Freedom Fund is the political arm of Planned Parenthood of Greater Iowa. Freedom Fund educates and mobilizes activists to help protect the reproductive health rights of Iowans. Its political action committee, Freedom Fund PAC, supports state-level candidates who support choice.

Victory for Iowa — The 2008 legislative session brought two new victories for women and families in Iowa. The first, a new state law requiring insurance companies to cover HPV vaccine, the second a new line item dedicated to assisting low-income women and families with reproductive health care.
These victories could not have been possible without the overwhelming response of activists who sent e-mails, made phone calls, and personally visited with elected officials. If you have not joined our Action Network—your opportunity to be a desktop activist—click here.
With the primary season over, its time to turn our sights on the general election. Freedom Fund will announce its support of candidates in the coming months so stay tuned! One way you can help to elect pro-choice candidates now is by hosting a Freedom Fund house party. Our annual event was a smashing success. This year the event was “Invest in the Political Pie”, encouraging sponsors to invest their political contributions in helping create change for Iowa. Over 100 people attended the event and enjoyed desserts such as “Affordable Access Apple Pie” and “Prevention First Pecan.” The event raised over $50,000 that will go to help elected pro-choice candidates across the state.
